NEET exam paper leak: A special court in Patna on Saturday ordered the 10-day police custody of the three arrested in connection with the NEET UG 2024 exam paper leak case. The CBI on Sunday produced Bharatpur Medical College students Kumar Mangalam Vishnoi and Deependra Sharma and Patna-arrested setter Shashikant Paswan before Special Incharge Judicial Magistrate Dhananjay Pandey at his residence. Court remanded. Subsequently, the CBI applied to the court and sought the custody of the three men for questioning. Accepting the plea, the court ordered the three accused to be handed over to the CBI in 10-day police custody. On the other hand, on Saturday, the special court extended the custody of main accused Rocky. Sources in the CBI say that the investigation of setter Sasikanth Paswan will yield several important clues. Sasikanth has been in contact with many people regarding the NEET question paper leak issue. CBI will remand two medical students from Rajasthan and interrogate them before Rakhi. According to sources, these two were in Hazaribagh on May 4 night to solve the question paper. Whereas, setter Shashikant Paswan is mainly Rocky and Pankaj Kumar alias Aditya's special partner. Sanjeev is close to Mukhya and others. Like Pankaj, he also passed out from NIT Jamshedpur, where the two studied together. Pankaj Civil Engineer, Shashikant Electrical Engineer. The CBI is trying to get hold of Sanjeev Mukhya, the mastermind who interrogated the arrested. But Sanjeev Mukhya is still absconding from CBI custody. To avoid arrest, Sanjeev Mukhya has taken an order from the court, which comes up for hearing on Monday. After Rakhi's remand period is extended, the CBI will interrogate him in front of the arrested medical students. Arrests of rapists for medical students are also on the rise. In-charge of Shastri Nagar Police Station, Patna, Amar Kumar, arrested some people on the charges of malpractices during the examination and registered an FIR as Shastri Nagar Police Station Case No. 358/2024. The case was later handed over to the Economic Offenses Wing. After that, the question paper leak issue came to light and the central government handed over the investigation of the case to the CBI, after which the CBI registered its FIR RC 224/2024 under sections 120B, 406, 407, 408 and on June 23. Research is done after registration under 409. The case has been registered in the court as RC 6E/2024. While 35 people have been arrested so far in this case, many people have been taken into police custody with the permission of the court and the CBI is investigating.
