BJP in its Lok Sabha election manifesto, promised that it will support farmers to make India a Global Nutrition Hub.

The Bharatiya Janata Party released its poll manifesto on 14th April 2024, with the tagline “Modi ki Guarantee,” with a focus on more development, women’s welfare and a roadmap for “Viksit Bharat” (developed India). The BJP election manifesto promised ‘One Nation One Election’ and “single electoral roll”.

BJP has promised to achieve energy independence for India by 2047, by which it aims to make the country a developed country. It has also planned to make India a global manufacturing hub & a third largest economy.

The party’s election manifesto released on Sunday made several promises for Entrepreneurs & startups. Let us take a look at BJP Manifesto’s key highlights for the economy.

India A Global Manufacturing Hub

The BJP laid an ambition to make India a global manufacturing hub. The BJP-led government at the Centre has been appealing with global corporations to invest in India.

BJP said it had made significant progress in the manufacturing sector, including the launch of a series of programmes like Make in India, Production Linked-Incentive, and simplification of compliances to expand manufacturing in the last 5 years of the Modi era.

“We will further harness the potential of manufacturing in creating employment opportunities and expanding economic activity,” the BJP manifesto read.

“We believe that our talent in research and design can be best complimented by expanding the manufacturing sector. We also understand the need for self-reliance and resilience in global value chains,” said BJP, asserting that the party will make all efforts to develop the country as a manufacturing hub.

Global Hub For Toy Manufacturing

In its election manifesto for 2024, the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) has also promised to make India a global toy manufacturing industry, leveraging the nation’s skilled workforce and rich cultural heritage to produce innovative and high-quality toys.

The BJP manifesto stated “We will transform Bharat into the global hub for toy manufacturing, leveraging our skilled workforce and rich cultural heritage to produce innovative and high-quality toys”.

Entrepreneurs, MSMEs and credit facilities:

BJP promised to double the loan limit under the PM Mudra scheme to Rs 20 lakh. As per the manifesto, over 46 crore loans worth around Rs 27 lakh crore have been given under the scheme so far. The party also plans to expand other existing schemes like PM Svanidhi and PM Vishwakaram Yojana along with PM Mudra to provide “livelihood opportunities for all families, including OBC, SC & ST”.

Startups

The BJP said it will work with the private sector to expand the incubator network and link them with higher education institutes to promote entrepreneurship among students. It added that it will expand the existing Startup India Seed Fund Scheme and Startup Credit Guarantee Scheme to ensure adequate funds for startups. It promised to enlist startup schemes such as Atal Tinkering Labs, Hackathon, Startup India and Start Up India Seed Fund Scheme.

India a Global Nutrition Hub

BJP in its Lok Sabha election manifesto, promised that it will support farmers to make India a Global Nutrition Hub. Sree Anna programme will be promoted to help over 2 crore small and marginal farmers who can produce millets at minimal investment and earn better prices.

India Energy Secure Country

India imports about 85 per cent of India’s crude oil out of total requirements.
Switching to other sources is seen as an avenue to reduce the dependence on imported fuel.
The party manifesto said it will enable homes across India to run devices like electric stoves, fan, AC, TV among others and also enable EV charging through solar energy.
