Miner burnt to death after contact with 11,000 volt wire in Lohartaka, woman critically injured
Gudu, Amit Kumar Raj: A school student died after an 11,000 volt power line caught fire at Lavagani village under Gudu police station limits on Wednesday evening. After treatment at Gudu CH, the injured girl has been referred to Lohardaka Sadar Hospital for better treatment. How the accident happened: Piyush Mahali, 11-year-old son of Birsa Mahali, a resident of Lavagani, Divya Kumari, 8-year-old daughter of Karthik Oran and other children were said to have gone out to herd goats. While tending the goats, Piyush and Divya were climbing a Koynar tree in the field and playing dalpat. At that time, Piyush was hit by an 11,000 volt power line near the tree. Then, Piyush's legs get caught in the electric wire, causing the tree to be electrocuted and Divya Kumari, who was climbing the tree, gets a severe shock and falls down from the tree and gets injured. Seeing Piyush writhing in pain, the children saw the other children standing near the tree and informed the family. On getting information about the incident, the injured Divya's family reached the spot and immediately took Divya to Gudu CHC for treatment. After first aid treatment there, he was referred to Lohardaka Sadar Hospital for further treatment. After Piyush's death, the family's condition is dire. Acting on the information, Gudu CO Madhushri Mishra, Constituency Vice President Ainul Ansari and Principal Lalitha Devi came to the spot and informed the power board. Acting on the information, Kuduthurai police arrived at the spot and seized the body and conducted an investigation. The body will be sent to Lohardaka Sadar Hospital for post-mortem on Thursday. Villagers Anger at Minthurai: After Piyush's death, there is a lot of anger among the villagers at Minthurai. CO Madhusree Mishra said that a girl was injured and a school student died after being caught in an electric wire in Lavagaini of the constituency. Police have arrived at the scene.
