Microsoft, Toys For Bob To Join Forces: Will Crash Bandicoot And Spyro Get A Revival?

Microsoft Corp. (NASDAQ: MSFT) has reportedly reached an agreement with Crash Bandicoot developer, Toys for Bob, for the studio’s next game.

Toys for Bob — also known for titles like Skylanders and the Spyro Reignited Trilogy —announced plans to become an indie developer, separate from Microsoft-owned Activision.

The studio hinted at a potential partnership with Microsoft during this transition, prompting speculation about reviving beloved intellectual properties like Crash or Spyro.

With Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard, it gains ownership of several major franchises. This includes Call of Duty, Diablo, Halo, World of Warcraft, and The Elder Scrolls.

These franchises offer significant market appeal and ongoing support through expansions and updates.

As per Windows Central, the partnership has been finalized, with Microsoft committing to finance the development of the undisclosed game. Described as being in line with Toys for Bob’s previous works, the upcoming title remains unspecified.

Both Microsoft and Toys for Bob have refrained from offering any official statements on the matter.
