Mayawati said the BSP does not agree with the Supreme Court's verdict on reservation – a difference of opinion between governments.

Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati disagreed with the Supreme Court's verdict on reservation. He said he did not agree with the court's decision to create a sub-caste division among the SC caste. Creating a new list on reservation can cause many problems. Division of sub-castes as SC-ST is not correct. The Supreme Court should also have prepared standards regarding the creamy layer. The former UP chief minister further said that there is a plan to stop reservation somewhere with the court order. The court referred to the creamy layer in the judgment but questioned its quality. There is no information about which caste falls under this limit. Classification in reservation means closing the reservation and allotment to general category. Mayawati said that our party does not agree with the Supreme Court judgment 'We are against classification in reservation' and we are against any kind of classification in reservation. SC-ST reservation system should be amended in the constitution and included in the 9th schedule of the constitution. He also said that after the court verdict, there will be differences of opinion between the central and state governments regarding reservation. Governments will act to provide reservation to desired castes. It creates a sense of dissatisfaction. Since Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes have faced atrocities as a group and this group is equal, it would not be right to create a system of reservation within quotas in any way. Court calls reservation within quota constitutional right of states In a landmark judgment, the Supreme Court on August 1 held that states have a constitutional right to make sub-classification (reservation within reservation) within Scheduled Castes, which constitute a socially diverse class. So that reservation can be given for the development of socially and educationally backward castes. Supreme Court Justice Pankaj Mittal called for a review of the reservation policy and new methods for the development of Scheduled Castes (SCs), Scheduled Tribes (STs) and Other Backward Classes (OBCs).
