Many schools in Delhi-Noida received threatening e-mails, schools were evacuated, the team kept searching
Threatening e-mails were sent to more than 100 schools in Delhi and Noida on Wednesday. It has been said in this mail that bombs have been planted in these schools. After getting information about the e-mails received by the schools, various agencies including Delhi Police have started investigation. Parents and relatives are coming to pick up their children from school, causing a jam-like situation on the roads of Delhi. However, nothing suspicious has been found in the schools that have been investigated so far.
Officials said emails were sent to Mother Mary School in Mayur Vihar area, Delhi Public School in Dwarka, Sanskriti School in Chanakyapuri, Delhi Public School in Vasant Kunj, Amity School in Saket and Delhi Public School in Noida Sector 30. Delhi Police officials said all schools have been evacuated and the local police have been informed about the email. A police officer said that bomb disposal squad, bomb disposal squad and Delhi Fire Service officials immediately reached the schools in Delhi and the search operation is underway.
“This is to inform you that the school has received an email that poses a threat to student safety,” DPS said in an email to parents. As a precaution, we are sending students back home immediately,” DPS said. On this matter, the Home Ministry says that there is no need to panic. It looks like this is a fake call. Delhi Police and security agencies are taking necessary steps as per protocol.
Noida Police said classes have been suspended at Delhi Public School in the city and police force has been deployed. “Taking immediate cognizance of the information, the police force is conducting a search operation around the school,” Noida Police said in a statement. Other necessary measures are also being taken.” Police said, “This is a mischief, a mail has been sent to all the schools on such a large scale to spread panic. The cyber cell unit is also trying to trace the emails and IP addresses.
Regarding the matter, Delhi Lieutenant Governor Vinay Saxena said that he has spoken to the Police Commissioner and asked for a detailed report on the bomb threat in the schools of Delhi-NCR. Delhi Police has been asked to conduct a thorough search of the school premises, identify the culprits and ensure that no foul play occurs.
