Major reshuffle in Bangladesh Army, Major General Ziaul Ahsan, close to Sheikh Hasina, removed, what is going to happen now?
Dhaka. Amid the ongoing crisis in Bangladesh, the army has made changes in some of its top level posts. This information was given by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Tuesday. Major General Ziaul Ahsan has been relieved from service. Apart from this, Lieutenant General Mohammad Saifullah Alam has been assigned the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, while Lieutenant General Mohammad Mojibur Rahman has been appointed GOC Army Training and Doctrine Command.

Similarly, Lieutenant General Ahmed Tabrez Shams Chowdhury has been appointed as Army Quartermaster General, Lieutenant General Mizanur Shamim as Chief of Army General Staff, Lieutenant General Mohammad Shahinul Haque as Commandant NDC and Major General ASM Ridwanur Rahman as Director General of National Telecommunication Monitoring Center (NTMC).
On the other hand, more than 100 people were killed in incidents of violence across the country amid the chaos that arose after Sheikh Hasina resigned from the post of Prime Minister of Bangladesh on Monday and left the country. This information was given in several news reports on Tuesday.
The situation in Dhaka was mainly calm on Tuesday morning after Monday's unrest and overnight tension, bdnews24.com news portal said. Buses and other public transport were seen on the roads and local shopkeepers also opened their shops, according to reports. Government vehicles were seen going to offices and many battery-operated rickshaws were also seen on the roads, the news portal reported.
Chaos spread in Bangladesh on Monday when Sheikh Hasina suddenly resigned from the post of Prime Minister and left the country in a military plane. As soon as the news of Hasina leaving the country spread, hundreds of people broke into her residence and vandalized and looted it.

The protesters attacked Hasina's residence 'Sudha Sadan' and other establishments in the capital and resorted to vandalism and arson. Residences and business establishments of ministers, MPs and leaders of Hasina's Awami League government in Dhaka and outside Dhaka were also targeted.
