Aamir Khan’s Reaction to Son Junaid’s Debut in ‘Maharaj’ ‘Saw It And Liked’
Actor Aamir Khan’s son Junaid Khan has been winning the hearts of the audience with his debut film Maharaj on Netflix. The YRF movie has garnered positive reactions from viewers, with Junaid’s performance receiving particular praise. Junaid plays the character of courageous journalist and dedicated social reformer Karsandas Mulji, who came to the limelight after he published an article in his newspaper, Satya Prakash, where he criticised the practices of the religious leader JJ, played by Jaideep Alhawat. Junaid shared how his father Aamir Khan reacted to the film. “He normally lets us do what we want unless we ask for specific advice. But he liked the film. He saw it a few months ago and he quite liked it,” Junaid told YEARS.
Junaid also discussed his reasons for choosing Maharaj. “When Sid (Siddharth P Malhotra) and Adi Sir called me for this story, I found it very appealing. I really liked Sid Sir’s part. The Yash Raj banner is significant, so taking on this project was an obvious choice,” he said.
Junaid Khan Reacts to Positive Reactions on Maharaj
Elated with the audience’s reaction after watching Maharaj, the actor shared his excitement. “I cannot explain in words what I’m feeling right now. Maharaj has been a long and wild journey for me, but all’s well that ends well I guess”, he told YEARS.
Junaid Khan’s debut film Maharaj is based on true events from the 1800s. The film is based on Saurabh Shah’s book. Jaideep Ahlawat plays maharaj, who is accused of sexually exploiting women devotees. The movie features an ensemble cast, including Shalini Pandey and Sharvari in key roles. Maharaj delves into the 1862 Maharaj Libel Case, one of India’s most significant legal battles, and highlights the life of social reformer Karsandas Mulji.
Junaid shared his thoughts on joining the project, citing the strong narrative and the Yash Raj banner as key attractions. “When Sid and Adi Sir called me for this story, I found it very appealing. I really liked Sid Sir’s part. The Yash Raj banner is significant, so taking on this project was an obvious choice,” he said.
Meanwhile, Junaid has teased fans with news of his latest cinematic venture. The actor revealed that he has commenced shooting for an untitled film in Delhi. He hinted that it is backed by a prominent production house.
