Lok Sabha Elections 2024: 68.32 percent polling in Dumka, Goda and Rajmahal, 40,000 security forces deployed, borders sealed in 49 places.

Ranchi: The seventh and final phase of polling in Jharkhand ended peacefully at Dumka, Koda and Rajmahal on Saturday. 68.32 percent votes were recorded in all the three constituencies. Jharkhand Chief Electoral Officer K. Ravi Kumar said that maximum 70.58 percent votes have been recorded in Dumka. 3 cases have been registered for violation of code of conduct. State Police Nodal Officer AV Homkar said that 40,000 policemen have been deployed for security for voting. Borders were sealed at 49 places. Dhruvai spoke to reporters at the election hall. Jharkhand Chief Electoral Officer K. Ravikumar said that around 68.32 percent votes have been recorded in Dumka, Rajmahal and Koda in the seventh and last phase of Lok Sabha elections in 2024. Polling continued till evening in some places. Voting was conducted peacefully. Three cases have been registered for violating the model code of conduct. K. Ravi Kumar along with State Police Nodal Officer AV Homkar held a press conference at Nirvachan Sadan in Durwa. State Chief Electoral Officer K. Ravi Kumar said that 70.58 percent votes have been registered in Dumka Jharkhand state. The figure was 70.58 per cent in Dumka and 67.24 per cent in Koda parliamentary constituency. Jharkhand Chief Administrative Officer K. Ravi Kumar said: Narayan Das, a driver who was on election duty in Jamdara of Tumka parliamentary constituency, died in an accident. He lived in Asansol, West Bengal. Gratitude will be given to his family members as per rules. 40,000 security forces have been engaged in security work, 40,000 security forces have been engaged in security work in a total of 6 districts in 3 parliamentary constituencies. With the amalgamation of the states of West Bengal and Bihar, intensive campaigning was carried out in the areas bordering the state. Borders were sealed at a total of 49 places. Out of the total 6258 booths, 130 booths have been affected by Naxalites, said state police nodal officer AV Homkar. However, Naxalite activity there is less at present. However, elaborate security arrangements have been made to avoid any mishap.
