Obnews International Desk: After thanking Pakistan, US President Donald Trump is now preparing for a new and important step, which can prove to be a major setback for the citizens of Pakistan and Afghanistan. According to US media reports, Trump may soon implement a new travel ban, under which Pakistani and Afghan citizens may be banned from entering the US. This decision will be taken on the basis of review of the security and identification verification procedures of these countries.
The ban could be similar to traveling restrictions imposed on Muslim-majority countries during Trump's first term, which was approved by the Supreme Court in 2018, but later the ban by Biden Joe Biden ended the ban.
Thanks to Pakistan
Donald Trump recently praised Pakistan while addressing the United Congress at Capital Hill. He thanked Pakistan for help in the arrest of Afghan terrorist Mohammad Sharifullah. Mohammad Sharifullah is the same terrorist who was involved in the conspiracy of the bomb blast at the AB Gate of Kabul Airport in 2021. 13 American soldiers and 170 Afghan citizens were killed in this attack.

Pakistan arrested Sharifullah on the basis of CIA intelligence. However, Trump's possible travel restriction policy can become a new challenge for Pakistan.
If the US imposes partial or full restrictions on the entry of Pakistanis, then Pakistani citizens may face difficulties in obtaining visas and also affect their education and employment opportunities in the US.
