Kia India Sets Price Increase Of Up To 3% For All Models Starting April 2024

Kia India, known for its premium vehicles, has declared a price increase of up to 3% across all its mass models including the Seltos, Sonet, and Carens, effective from April 1, 2024. This adjustment, the first of its kind this year for Kia, is primarily due to the rise in commodity prices and supply chain-related inputs.

Mr. Hardeep Singh Brar, National Head of Sales and Marketing at Kia India, explained the company’s stance on the matter. He stated, “At Kia, we consistently strive to deliver premium and technologically advanced products to our esteemed customers.

However, due to the continuous increase in commodity prices, adverse exchange rate and rising input cost, we are compelled to implement a partial price hike. The company is absorbing a significant portion of the increase, allowing customers to continue driving their favourite Kia cars without a major dent in their pockets”.

Kia has made significant inroads in the Indian and overseas markets, having sold almost 1.16 million units to date. The Seltos stands out as its best-selling model with more than 613,000 unit sales, followed by the Sonet with over 395,000 units and the Carens with 159,000 units.

In April 2017, Kia India embarked on its journey in the Indian market by signing a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the State Government of Andhra Pradesh to establish a new manufacturing facility in the Anantapur District. By August 2019, mass production was underway with an annual production capacity set at 300,000 units.

April 2021 marked a significant rebranding for Kia India with the introduction of its new brand identity, “Movement that Inspires,” aimed at providing customers with meaningful experiences through innovative products and services.
