While it takes years for those accused of money laundering to get bail from courts, in the last six months, four top Aam Aadmi Party leaders jailed on PMLA charges have come out on bail. These leaders are Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia, Sanjay Singh and Vijay Nair. Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal was granted bail by the Supreme Court on Friday. Kejriwal was the last member of the Aam Aadmi Party to be jailed in the Delhi liquor scam case. Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh was the first to get bail in the money laundering case. Subsequently, former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia came out on bail. Later Vijay Nair got bail and finally Kejriwal also got relief in Supreme Court in money laundering and criminal conspiracy case. Abhishek Manu Singhvi- Senior advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi is leading the entire Delhi Liquor Scam case. Sanjay Singh also went to meet Singhvi after coming out of jail. Singhvi reportedly charges up to Rs 10 lakh to investigate any case. Amit Desai- Senior Supreme Court advocate Amit Desai is appearing for Aam Aadmi Party leaders in the Delhi liquor case. Desai's appearance in the Arvind Kejriwal case created a stir. During the hearing of a case, Additional Solicitor General Raju, appearing for the ED, asked how a person can appoint two lawyers for representation? Desai, who started practicing law in 1982, is considered one of the great lawyers in criminal cases. Desai has fought cases involving Harshad Mehta, Union Carbide, Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan and popular actor Salman Khan. Dayan Krishnan- Senior Supreme Court advocate Dayan Krishnan also played a major role in getting bail to Aam Aadmi Party leaders in the money laundering case. Krishnan has argued from the High Court to the Supreme Court in Manish Sisodia and Sanjay Singh cases. After coming out of jail, Manish Sisodia publicly thanked Dayan Krishnan at the party office. A 1993 law graduate from the National Law School, Bangalore, Krishnan is considered an expert in criminal law and money laundering matters. Krishnan has appeared as public prosecutor in several prominent cases including the Nirbhaya gang-rape case, the Nitish Katara murder case, the Navy war room leak case, the Commonwealth Games scam and the Ubar (tampering of evidence) case. Recently, she appeared in court on behalf of the Wrestling Federation in a dispute involving women wrestlers. Mohit Mathur- Mohit Mathur represented the Aam Aadmi Party leaders in the lower and high courts. Only Mathur appeared in the daily hearing. Mathur, a senior advocate, has also served as President of the Delhi High Court Bar Association. Mathur, who came to law from student politics, is a lawyer in criminal cases.
