Kamala Harris is giving tough competition to Donald Trump in the presidential race, know the survey report…
US President Joe Biden has ended his election campaign by withdrawing himself from the presidential race. In his place, he has supported Vice President Kamala Harris for the Democratic nomination.
At the same time, a New York Times/Siena College poll of registered voters, conducted from July 22 to 24 and published on Thursday, has Republican Donald Trump ahead of Democratic U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris 48% to 46%.
The survey of 1,142 registered voters nationwide had a margin of error of 3.3 percentage points.
Harris was ahead of Trump
Before the presidential election, Reuters/Ipsos conducted a survey, according to which 44 percent people believe that Kamala Harris will win. Whereas, 42 percent people were in support of Trump. In such a situation, Harris has taken a lead of two percentage points over Trump.
Survey conducted after Biden dropped out of the race
Kamala Harris has gained a two percent lead over Donald Trump in the Reuters/Ipsos poll. This poll was conducted on Monday and Tuesday after Joe Biden announced his withdrawal from the presidential election campaign.
Earlier on Sunday, President Biden surprised everyone by announcing that he would not contest the election. After his poor performance in the debate with Donald Trump on June 27, there was constant pressure on him not to contest the election.
Harris's popularity is on the rise
National polls show that Harris's support is increasing. However, Trump's campaign has not described Harris' lead as significant. According to the report, pollster Tony Fabrizio says that Harris's rise in popularity will likely last for some time.
