Jagannath's Ratha Yatra begins today, Prime Minister Modi has greeted the people of the country
Jagannath's journey started on 7th July. Because of this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi greeted the people of the country on the occasion of the commencement of Lord Jagannath's Rath Yatra on Sunday. Prime Minister Modi wrote on social networking site 'X', Greetings on the start of the Holy Chariot Yatra, we bow to Mahaprabhu Jagannath and pray for his blessings to be upon us. Prime Minister Modi congratulated everyone on Ashadi Beej, especially the Kuchi community living all over the world. Actually, Ashadi Peej falls on the second day of Shukla Paksha of Ashada month of Hindu calendar. This festival is associated with the onset of rains in the Kutch region of Gujarat. Rath Yatra is a major festival associated with Lord Jagannath where crores of devotees reach Puri. It begins on the same day that the Kuchi community of Gujarat celebrates the New Year. Jagannath's Ratha Yatra is famous not only in India but all over the world. Millions of devotees visit the Jagannath temple in Puri, Odisha every year to participate in the Ratha Yatra. This Ratha Yatra is taken on the second day of Ashad Shukla Paksha. This Dham of Jagannath is one of the four thalams of Hindus located in the country. In Hinduism there are four thalams namely Rameswaram, Jagannath-Puri, Badrinath-Kedarnath and Dwarka. Congratulations on starting the Holy Chariot Yatra. After 53 years, this Ratha Yatra started on Sunday, July 7, 2024. According to the planets and constellations, a two-day yatra has been organized this year, and earlier, 1971 was the year when a two-day yatra was organized. After July 7th, the Chariot will be taken forward again on the morning of July 8th. After that the Ratha Yatra will reach Kundicha temple on Monday.
