IPL 2024: Virat Kohli wants men’s team to double RCB’s success after WPL victory
Kohli lauded the women’s team at the event who clinched the Women’s Premier League trophy by beating Delhi Capitals on March 17, Sunday. Smriti Mandhana’s side dominated DC in the final and won the match by 8 wickets.

Kohli was on call after Mandhana’s team won the match and congratulated the team via a video call at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi
“When they won we were all watching it…it felt like the city won if you look at the turnout of the fans,” Virat Kohli said.
“30,000 people for the finals and packed stadium when they played here (Chinnaswamy), these are special things which you create over a long period of time and not one or two years. 16 years of loyalty and passion from the fans…that is unwavering,” he added.

Kohli and the RCB men’s team gave the Smriti Mandhana side a guard of honour at the M Chinnaswamy stadium as the women’s team presented the WPL trophy to their fans. The legendary former India captain looked elated for the women’s team. Speaking in the same interview, Kohli hoped that RCB’s men’s team would also win the tournament.
“Hopefully we can double it up with the trophies, that will be something truly special.” concluded the legendary batter.
