IPL 2024: Gujarat star’s explosive entry in the Orange Cap race, know who has the Purple Cap?

Updated list: Gujarat Titans captain Shubman Gill has taken a giant leap in the race for IPL 2024 Orange Cap. Gill played an unbeaten inning of 89 runs against Punjab Kings in the 17th match of IPL 2024. He hit 6 fours and 4 skyscraper sixes in 48 balls in his innings. On the basis of this innings, Shubman Gill has succeeded in making his place among the top 5 batsmen in the race for IPL 2024 Orange Cap. He has become the fourth Indian to be included in this list of top-5 batsmen. Virat Kohli is currently on top in the race for Orange Cap.

After this unbeaten inning of 89 runs, Shubman Gill has scored 164 runs in 4 matches of IPL 2024 and he is at fourth place in the race for Orange Cap. Apart from this, his team’s Sai Sudarshan is running at 5th position with 160 runs. Rishabh Pant has suffered a loss due to the entry of Shubman Gill and Sai Sudarshan. Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Pant has come at number six.

Virat Kohli tops the list of batsmen who have scored the most runs in IPL 2024. King Kohli has scored 203 runs so far this season, apart from him no other batsman has been able to cross the 200-run mark yet. After Kohli, Ryan Parag of Rajasthan Royals is at second place, while Heinrich Klaasen of Sunrisers Hyderabad is at third place.

No bowler in the league could snatch this cap from him, but Mohit Sharma achieved this feat on Thursday. Mohit and Mustafizur have equal 7 wickets in their name.
