Glenn Maxwell has decided to take a break
Glenn Maxwell has taken an indefinite break from the Indian Premier League (IPL) due to mental and physical fatigue. Meanwhile, T20 captain Mitchell Marsh is in Australia after a hamstring injury and the board’s medical team is monitoring his injury. As far as RCB is concerned, the team is at the last position in the IPL 2024 points table. RCB has won only one match out of seven.
Glenn Maxwell requested a break from the captain and management citing his physical and mental condition. Maxwell said that he himself decided to withdraw from the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad because he could not contribute to the team. He said, the first few matches were not what I personally expected, so I have decided to take a break. It was not difficult for me to take this decision. I had talked to captain Faf du Plessis and the coach about this after the last match.
It is easy to take this decision by looking at the performance of the team.
Maxwell further said that the decision was easy considering the team’s performance. Our team is not performing as per expectations. The statistics clearly show this. Besides, personally I was a frequent flop. So I felt that I was not contributing in a positive manner and I felt that in a situation where we are seeing our team in the points table, now some other player should be given a chance to perform well.
