Indonesia: Chinese woman who went to see the volcano died due to careless fall from the mountain
Volcanic eruptions have been occurring continuously in Indonesia’s Mount Ruang since April 17. Tourists are coming from far and wide to see the volcano. Meanwhile, on Monday (April 22), a Chinese woman died while viewing the volcano.
According to reports, the Chinese woman climbed the edge of Ijen Crater to view the volcano at sunrise. Ijen Crater is a mountain from where the volcano is clearly visible. This mountain is known as ‘Blue Fire’ all over the world.
According to the police, the name of the 31-year-old woman was Huang Lihong, who had come to Indonesia from China. She was taking some pictures of the volcano when her foot got stuck in her clothes. She was adjusting her clothes when she lost her balance and fell off the cliff.
Huang Lihong came with her husband Zhang Yong. Preliminary investigation revealed that Huang died after falling 75 meters from Mount Ijen crater. The tour guide accompanying her said that he had warned the woman several times and asked her to maintain a distance of 2 to 3 meters from the mountain, but the woman did not listen to him.
She went near a tree and started taking photographs. Then her leg got stuck in her clothes and she fell. It has not yet been revealed whether the woman was wearing a skirt or a long dress.
Let us tell you that the disaster center in Indonesia is on alert mode. Disaster management officials say two earthquakes occurred recently near Mount Ruang. Because of this the tectonic plates became unstable, causing the volcano to erupt.
Officials said that 20 rescue personnel have been deployed to save the people. In view of the danger, Indonesia’s Volcanology Agency had issued a Level 4 warning. Apart from this, an area of 6 kilometers near the volcano has been declared a special area.
