Indian citizens should not travel to Bangladesh, India issued strict advice after the violence
In view of recent incidents of violence in the neighboring country, India on Sunday night advised all citizens residing in Bangladesh to exercise extreme caution and restrict their movement. India has issued a fresh advisory to its citizens not to travel to Bangladesh until further notice. At least 100 people, including 14 policemen, were killed in violent clashes between security forces and anti-government protesters in various parts of Bangladesh on Sunday, reports from Dhaka said. Protesters are demanding that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina step down. In view of the current developments, Indian citizens are strictly advised not to travel to Bangladesh until further orders, the Ministry of External Affairs said in an advisory. According to the advisory, all Indian citizens in Bangladesh have been advised to exercise extreme caution, restrict their movement and remain in touch with the Indian High Commission in Dhaka at all times. At least 100 people, including 14 policemen, were killed and hundreds injured in violent clashes in various parts of Bangladesh on Sunday between protesters demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and supporters of the ruling Awami League. Due to this, the authorities suspended mobile internet services and imposed an indefinite curfew across the country. The protesters came on Sunday to participate in a non-cooperation program organized under the banner of Students Against Discrimination, demanding the government's resignation over the reservation system in government jobs. As Awami League, Chhatra League and Jubo League parties opposed this, there was a clash between the two parties.
