The Defense Ministry is increasing monitoring of weapons being exported from India. According to a report in the Economic Times, the Defense Ministry has issued a warning to private arms manufacturing companies to keep a close watch on where their weapons are reaching.
Actually, the need to do this has arisen after those media reports which claimed that India's weapons are reaching the wrong hands. According to the Eurasian Times report, at the beginning of the year, some media reports claimed that 155mm artillery shells made in India are being used in Ukraine. Whereas Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal had told in a press conference that no weapons of any kind have been sent to Ukraine from India.
Weapons being sent from India to Israel amid the war in GazaA few days ago, Spain claimed that it had refused to allow a ship carrying explosives from India to Israel to stop at its port. This ship flying the flag of Denmark was going from Chennai to Israel's Haifa port. It was carrying a consignment of weapons. However, it was not told whether these weapons were from India or some other country. When the Ministry of External Affairs was questioned on this, spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said that he had no information about this.

To whom does the Indian Government not want its weapons to reach? The Defense Ministry has asked the arms manufacturing companies to strictly follow the End User Certification (EUC) rules. Through this, it is ensured where the weapons exported by India have finally reached. The purpose of issuing this certificate is to prevent the weapons from being exported further. Currently, there are restrictions on Indian companies selling weapons to Ukraine, Turkey, China and Pakistan.
According to retired Colonel Abhay Balkrishna Patwardhan, the government by wrong hands means that the weapons sent from India did not reach those organizations and countries which are banned in some way. These include especially terrorist organizations which are banned by Interpol and the Government of India.
Myanmar's army which is killing people also got weapons from India – UN claimsLast year, the Myanmar military claimed that after the coup in 2021, the army had purchased weapons worth 1 billion dollars i.e. 8 thousand crores. According to experts from the United Nations, the Myanmar army has made this purchase despite the sanctions imposed on it.
The UN claimed that the Myanmar army also received weapons and related equipment worth Rs 420 crore from Indian companies in the last 2 years. The UN report said that there is strong evidence that the army has used these weapons to commit violence against the people. Despite this, some countries supplied weapons to the army without stopping.
