Firozpur: To stop this trend of unauthorized passengers traveling in trains, the ticket checking team of Firozpur division is continuously checking the tickets in the trains. A total of 41749 passengers were found traveling without tickets or traveling irregularly during April, 2024 by the ticket checking staff and Chief Ticket Inspectors of the Division and an income of about Rs 4.08 crore was recovered from them as fine. In the month of April, the headquarters had given a target of earning revenue of Rs 3.20 crore to Firozpur division through ticket checking, but since April 17, train services are closed at Shambhu station of Ambala division due to farmers’ agitation. Despite this, the ticket checking staff of Firozpur division received 28 percent more income than the target.
Divisional Railway Manager Sanjay Sahu said that the ticket checking campaign will continue in Firozpur division.
