In Assam, there is chaos everywhere due to floods and 125 wild animals have died so far
The state of Assam has been experiencing heavy rains and floods for the past few days. More than 24 lakh people in 30 districts of the state are currently affected by floods. So far 58 people have died due to floods, rains and landslides in the state. Not only humans but also dumb animals have been affected by the floods in Assam. Along with domesticated animals, wild animals are also affected by floods. 125 wild animals have died so far. The water level of the Brahmaputra river has risen and has created a flood of water in Kaziranga National Park, known as a World Heritage Center, along with other districts. Because of this plague spread to the animals in the national park. Even after 4 days on Sunday, there was no major improvement in the flood level in Kaziranga. Currently, more than 60 forest camps have been flooded. Wild animals in the national park roam here and there in search of food and shelter. Wild elephants cross the national highway towards the Karbi Anglong hills in search of higher ground to save themselves from the floods. Apart from elephants, the Assam Gaurav one-horned rhinoceros was also seen roaming the National Highway 37 in search of high ground. Six one-horned rhinos, 90 deer and other animals were among the 125 animals that died in Kaziranga National Park. At the same time, the forest department has also rescued 96 animals. Considering the safety of animals while crossing the National Highway, the Assam government has put brakes on the movement of vehicles on Highway No. 37. Some vehicles have slowed down. On Sunday, Assam Government Minister Jayant Mallab Barua visited the flood-affected Kaziranga National Area and launched a slow campaign on national highways. (Reporting by Ganesh)
