Illegal coal trade is rampant in Hanwara through motorcycles.
Illegal coal trading on motorcycles is rampant in the Hanwara Police Station area. Coal transporters are involved in coal transport and deliver coal consignments to police station areas like Sanogarh and Sanhaula in Bihar where coal is dumped. Coal is loaded here blindly not only at night but also during the day. Police have been deployed at the Hanwara barricade only for the event related to coal trade. But there is no restriction on this. Instead, coal is dumped across the Bihar border in collusion with industrialists involved in coal transportation. Everyone is complicit. In this matter, the Hanwara district public representatives teased the administration saying that on one hand the police are checking the helmets and on the other hand they are not checking the papers or the helmets of the coal traders. Merchants pay tribute and do business easily. Coal is transported by more than hundred bikes every day and no one has any control over it. On the one hand there has been an increase in thefts in the Hanwara police station area, on the other hand this type of business is going on unhindered.
