If crop gets destroyed by fire then get compensation like this

Fire Incident: During the summer season, due to short circuit in the electrical wires or any other reason, the crops prepared in the fields are getting burnt to ashes. Such incidents mostly occur during the summer season. To provide relief to farmers from such accidents, Chief Minister Sports-Barn Accident Assistance Scheme is being run. Under this, there is a provision to give compensation to farmers in lieu of crop loss.

According to the rules, if the fire occurs due to any common reason then a complaint is filed. Whereas, if the fire occurs due to electrical wires etc. then the electricity department gives compensation in lieu of the burnt crops. For this, a report is sent by the district administration and after this the damage is assessed and compensation is given to the farmers.

What is the process?

If there is a fire in your farm, you can lodge a complaint in the block through the village head or the secretary. With this you can also get information about whether your crop insurance covers such incidents or not?

After crop fire, farmers can go to the e-district portal through the Jan Suvidha Kendra and apply on the fire incident portal through the Mandi Committee portal. After this, their verification will be done under the Chief Minister Fire Incident Farming Scheme. It will be investigated through Tehsil and within 10 days the money will be sent to the farmer’s account by the market committee. In case of fire in 2.5 acre crop, Rs 30 thousand is given as compensation and in case of fire in 5 acre crop, Rs 40 thousand and above Rs 50 thousand are given as compensation.
