Gurugram: Soldiers serving in the armed forces can vote online through ETPBS

Employees from outside the district who are doing duty in Gurugram can fill Form 12A and get their postal ballot paper here. Voting centers will also be set up for these employees in the district and votes will be cast. DC and District Election Officer Nishant Kumar Yadav said this in the workshop organized on Postal Ballot Paper in the Mini Secretariat Auditorium on Friday.

Nishant Kumar Yadav said that from the year 2020, the Election Commission of India has now made a new policy and given the facility to the employees to cast their vote through postal ballot paper also. Employees who are serving and performing their duty in Gurugram district of the second assembly constituency can vote in their work area only by filling Form 12A. The Election Commission has prepared the complete mechanism for postal ballot paper and these votes will be cast following it. He said that in all the districts of Haryana, Form-A of the employees will be sent after May 9 by appointing a responsible officer, so that their postal ballot papers can arrive on time. After this, on May 22, 23 and 24, special booths will be set up to cast the votes of these employees.

DC said that similarly, the soldiers who are serving in the army and paramilitary forces can vote online through ETPBS postal paper. The Election Commission has also created two portals – servicevoter.nic.in and ETPBS.in – for service voters. In the district, elderly people above 85 years of age, Covid patients admitted in hospital and disabled people can vote sitting at home by filling Form-12D. There are about 29 thousand elderly and disabled voters in the four assembly constituencies of Gurugram district. After the election notification is issued, Form-12D will be sent to all of them, in which they will express their consent about voting from home or going to the booth. After this they will be provided the facility to vote.

District Election Officer said that Additional Labor Commissioner Kushal Kataria has been appointed as the nodal officer for postal ballot paper, under whose supervision the process of online service voting and voting through postal ballot paper will be completed.
