Free treatment for over 37 lakh railway employees at UMID, top level hospitals at just Rs 100

UMID: Indian Railways has given a big gift to its more than 37 lakh employees, pensioners and their dependents. Railways have decided to change their health care policies and issue a Unique Medical Identity Card (UMID Card). With this card, around 12.5 lakh railway employees, over 15 lakh pensioners and over 10 lakh dependents can get treatment at major hospitals including All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) for just Rs 100. According to a report by English website News 18, the Indian Railways has taken this action following the complaints of the employees and pensioners. In their complaints, the employees and pensioners alleged that in case of acute or major illness, the treating doctors send them to hospitals of their choice. After her complaint, the Railways changed its policies and decided to issue unique identity cards to take care of the health of employees, pensioners and their dependents. The statement said that treatment and medicine will be free and henceforth, lakhs of railway employees, pensioners and their dependents will be able to get better treatment without the need for a doctor's prescription through a unique identity card. Apart from 25 AIIMS hospitals in the country, they can easily get treatment at PGIMER Chandigarh, JIPMAR Puducherry, NIMHANS Bengaluru. No need to refer any doctor for this. With this card, they not only get better treatment but also get essential medicines free of charge. Railway Board Executive Director (Transformation) Pranab Kumar Malik has ordered the issue of special medical identity card on September 2, 2024 as the new rule of Railways will come into effect immediately. It is a big thing that this decision of Railways is effective immediately. This card will be stored in DigiLocker through Health Management Information System (HMIS). It is also available in employee-pensioner profiles. After this you have to click on login. Once you click, you will be redirected to a new page. Here railway employees have to enter PF number and pensioners have to enter PPO number. After that, you have to enter its password as well. After this, you have to provide PAN number and date of birth. After doing this, you will get an option to provide details. After providing the required information, you have to enter the captcha code and click on login or register option.
