New Delhi. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Tuesday made it clear that India is fully prepared to work with the US President, no matter who holds that position. Jaishankar's statement came on the occasion of the release of Indiaspora's impact report. Jaishankar said, “We generally do not comment on the elections of others, because we expect that others also do not comment on our elections. But the American system will give its verdict and we are fully confident that whichever government is elected, we will be able to work with it.” The Foreign Minister said that from the experience of the last 20 years, he is fully confident that cooperation between India and America will continue, no matter who becomes the US President.
Views on the global situation
When asked about the current global situation, Jaishankar said the world is going through an exceptionally difficult phase. Pointing to the ongoing conflicts in Ukraine and Israel, he said he is an optimist who thinks about solutions to problems, but the situation is extremely serious at present.

Impact of COVID-19 and future challenges
Jaishankar also noted that many countries are yet to fully recover from the impact of COVID-19. “The events taking place in the Middle East, Ukraine, Southeast Asia, and East Asia reflect the continuing impact of COVID. Those who have come out of it are taking it lightly, but many countries are still not able to recover from it,” he said. He also pointed to global economic challenges, including trade difficulties, foreign exchange shortages, and other disruptions. Additionally, instability caused by climate change is also contributing to global problems, which are having serious consequences.
