The Food Safety Authority of Singapore has said that the amount of ethylene oxide in fish curry masala was found to be more than the limit. After that, the government agencies in Singapore have given instructions to withdraw this product from the market.

 

Ethylene oxide is a chemical that is considered unfit for human consumption. In Everest’s fish curry masala, the amount of this chemical has been found to be higher than the limit. Everest spices are imported from India to Singapore. The Center for Food Safety in Hong Kong had given an alert in this regard. Accordingly, the Singapore government has imposed restrictions on Everest Fish Curry Masala.

 

 

What is Ethylene Oxide?

Ethylene oxide is a pesticide. This insecticide is sprayed to prevent insect infestation on the crops. According to Singapore regulations, the use of this chemical in spice products is allowed to a certain extent, but the amount of ethylene oxide in Everest fish curry spice is so high that it will be dangerous to health, Read reported.

 

In the background of all this, the Singapore Food Agency has instructed the importer SP Muthiah & Sons Private Limited to recall these products from the market.

 

Appeal to citizens

One should not use Everest’s fish curry masala. Those who have used this spice in home food should pay attention to health. In a statement released by the Singapore Food Agency, medical advice should be sought if there is any health complaint. Everest has not yet given any reaction in this regard.

 

Some Nestlé products are also questioned

Some of the products of Nestlé, the world’s leading company in the field of consumer products, have recently been questioned in a report. The report claims that the milk and Cerelac supplied to children in India and other Asian and African countries by Nestlé are being adulterated. However, in the European and UK markets, pure and unadulterated cerelac is being sold, the report said. The World Health Organization has taken serious notice of this. However, Nestlé India has categorically rejected this claim.
