Equities remain green, with Sensex up 1,092.68 points
Stock market: After two consecutive days of major declines, the domestic stock market is in the green on Tuesday, August 6, 2024. In early trade, the benchmark Sensex of the Mumbai Stock Exchange (BSE) opened 1,092.68 points higher at 79,852.08 points. Meanwhile, the Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) also opened the trade at 24,382.60 points, up by around 327 points. Earlier, on Monday, the Sensex took a huge dive of 2226.49 points or 2.75% to touch the level of 78,755.46. Meanwhile, the Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) closed at 24,285.45 points, down a whopping 432.25 or 1.75%. 26 Sensex stocks trade in gains After a sharp rally in the early trade, around 26 of the 30 companies listed on the Sensex are trading in gains. These include Tech Mahindra, JSW Steel, Adani Ports, Tata Motors, HCL Technologies, Larsen & Trubo, Infosys, TCS, Reliance Industries, Maruti Suzuki, Hindustan Unilever, Tata Steel, Mahindra & Mahindra, Bajaj Finserv, Indian Thermal Corporation. Major banks in the state are SDFC Bank and Axis Bank. ICICI Bank, IndusInd Bank and Bharti Airtel were among the losers. Japan's Nikkei is trading up about 7.89 percent after a big drop on Monday. Hong Kong's Hong Seng saw an increase of around 0.46. South Korea's Kospi and China's Shanghai Conglomerate are also trading profitably. However, a softer trend is observed in the European market. America's Dow Jones gained 0.86 percent on Monday. Gold rose 0.15 percent to $2,408.40 a barrel in the international market. At the same time, in the global oil market, Brent crude oil was trading 1.41 percent higher at $77.38 per barrel.
