Engineer artist created a unique idol for Ganesh festival, named it ‘Udte Bappa
An artist from Mumbai has created a unique idol of Lord Ganesha for the upcoming Ganpati festival. The artist, an engineer by profession, has created this special artwork in such a way that the modak appears to be flying in the air. This idol has been made by 28-year-old sculptor Ramakant Devariya. He has named it “Unique Ganpati” or “Flying Bappa”.
Ramakant Devariya is an electrical engineer by profession. Regarding this special artwork of his, Ramakant Devariya told ‘PTI-Bhasha’ on Saturday that a magnetic circuit has been used to make the ‘Modak’ float in the air. He told that making it was not at all easy.
It took three and a half years to make the circuit
Ramakant Devariya has been making eco-friendly idols of Lord Ganapati for the last two decades. Talking about making the flying Bappa, Devariya said, “I got this idea four years ago when I was talking to my colleagues. It took me about three and a half years to complete this magnetic circuit. I have made it in such a way that it looks absolutely natural.”
Modak can be used for decoration
Ramakant Devaria told that he has made the idol of Lord Ganpati from clay. The artist told that to make the idol of Ganpati unique, he has prepared modak hanging in the air. It has not been attached to the idol. People can also use it as decoration after immersion of Ganpati idol. Artist Devaria plans to first put these idols in his shop and if people like it, he will make more such designs. Devaria told that he is very fond of making idols since childhood, although now he is an engineer in Pune but he makes artworks on weekends.
Ganpati festival will start from 7 September
It is noteworthy that Ganpati festival will be celebrated from next month September. Ganeshotsav is celebrated with great pomp all over India. Chaturthi of Shukla Paksha of Bhadrapada month is also known as ‘Main Ganesh Chaturthi’, ‘Vinayak Chaturthi’, ‘Kalank Chaturthi’ and ‘Danda Chauth’. Ganeshotsav, which will last for 10 days, will begin from 7 September 2024 this year and immersion will take place on 17 September 2024. Vishwakarma Puja is also performed on this day.
