The telecom department used the 'Sakshu' portal to report and analyze fraud activities, where five suspicious numbers were first identified. According to a report released by the Department of Telecommunications, the artificial intelligence (AI)-based analysis of the portal revealed that 392 handsets linked to 31,740 mobile numbers were used in these fraudulent activities. The department has directed all telecom service providers to block these handsets across the country based on IMEI. If these numbers are found wrong during re-verification, they will be immediately canceled and the concerned handset will also be blocked. The department appealed to citizens to alert and alert them to report suspicious communications through the 'Eye-Report Suspected Fraudulent Communication' feature on the 'Sanchar Sati' portal.
