Flood from space in Dubai: Devastation is being seen in Dubai due to heavy rains. There is water everywhere in the sandy area. At that time, the US space agency NASA has released pictures of floods that occurred after torrential rains in various areas of the United Arab Emirates. NASA said it was a slow-moving storm that devastated the Gulf states. In some cities, one and a half year’s worth of rain fell in a single day, after which flood waters receded in many areas on April 19. After this rain, for the first time the Landsat 9 satellite passed through this area and the flood conditions were visible in the pictures.
NASA shared two photos before and after the flood
The space agency has posted before and after photos of the deluge on X. In this, UAE was shown on 3 April and 19 April. The first photo shows the arid plains for which the country is known. The second, meanwhile, shows puddles of blue water in some southern parts.
According to Khaleej Times report, the presence of water is visible in blue color in the pictures. The image shows floodwaters near resorts and parks south of Palm Jalab Ali in the industrial area of Jebel Ali, south of Dubai Port. NASA’s Landsat 9 satellite monitors the understanding and management of land resources essential to sustaining human life.

NASA pictures show that many parts of Abu Dhabi are also submerged in water. Landsat 9 showed the city and surrounding area on 3 April and 19 April. On 19 April, water could be seen on Sheikh Zayed Road, the main thoroughfare between Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Residential areas, Khalifa City and Zayed City, southeast of Downtown Abu Dhabi, also experienced flooding.
Daoud Al Hajri, the civic body’s director general, told Khaleej Times that Dubai has received more than 220 mm of rain in less than 24 hours this week, more than it receives in a single day in a year. Due to so much rain, life in the country had become disrupted, but due to the efforts of the government and the people, life is becoming normal. Apart from the public sector, most of the private sector organizations have also asked their employees to work from home.
