Doctor Lists Dietary Practices For Strong Lungs And To Promote Respiratory Health Naturally
Maintaining good respiratory and lung health requires a diet high in nutrients. Certain nutrients, such as omega-3 fatty acids and vitamins A, C, and E, are essential for lung health and reduce the risk of respiratory problems.
Vitamin-A-rich foods, including leafy greens, sweet potatoes, and carrots, help keep the respiratory tract lining intact, reducing the risk of infection.
Vitamin C strengthens the immune system and reduces airway inflammation. It is found in citrus fruits, strawberries, and bell peppers. Vitamin E, abundant in nuts, seeds, and avocados, acts as an antioxidant to protect lung tissues from oxidative damage caused by harmful chemicals. Omega-3 fatty acids, found in walnuts, flaxseeds, and fatty fish, have anti-inflammatory properties that may improve lung function and reduce the severity of respiratory diseases like COPD and asthma.
