Do you know, you can get full refund on mistake or wrong payment through UPI?

UPI Payments: The use of Unified Payments Interface (UPI) is continuously increasing in the country. Gen Z is now doing financial transactions through UPI instead of cash in bulk. With UPI QR codes reaching small merchants, payments have now become easier. However, sometimes the payment goes through the wrong UPI, so you can track the wrong transaction and get the money back.

Many times you can complain by calling the service call center of the bank to get the wrong payment back as it is done through UPI code and can also complain online on NPCI portal. You can immediately give this information by calling the customer care center of the bank or contacting the UPI service provider.

Get a refund by calling this number

To complain about wrong UPI transaction, you can call toll free number 18001201740. In which complete information about payment will have to be given. RBI is also continuously trying to spread awareness among the people about this. As per RBI rules, you can get a quick refund by first reporting the incorrect payment to the payment service provider.

You can get a refund by calling the customer care support of GPay, PhonePe, Paytm or UPI app and giving this information.

Complaint on NPCI portal

If you are not getting help from customer service. So you can complain on NPCI portal. For this, first of all go to the official website of NPCI. Later click on Get in Touch, enter all the details in it. Like, Name, Email ID etc… Later submit and click on Discharge Redressal Mechanism under complete section. Include UPI transaction ID, virtual payment address, amount transferred, date of transaction, email ID and mobile number. Due to wrong click on transfer to another account. Then submit.

In case of wrong transaction, complaint should be made immediately. Complaint has to be made within three days of wrong transaction. There is no guarantee of refund on subsequent complaints.
