Demon Slayer Season 4 bags the top spot in anime TV rankings, but here’s the catch
Despite being a near-perfect episode with a 9.9/10 rating on IMDb and breaking Crunchyroll’s server during its simulcast release schedule, the Demon Slayer Season 4 finale aired on June 30. Despite this, the series is still ranked #2 on Video Research’s weekly TV anime rankings.
Nonetheless, the efforts by Hashira, the longest-running anime series, Sazae-chan, which has more episodes than The Simpsons, managed to survive only because of their flaming, epic showdown. As per the most recent average household viewership ratings, which were determined in the week spanning June 24 to June 30, the last episode of the Hashira Training Arc received a score of 6.4% in the Kanto region of Japan.

Yet again, Sazae-chan, the sister program of Ufotable on the Fuji Television Network, ranked higher than it did. The anime version of Koyoharu Gotouge’s manga series accomplished an unprecedented feat with the release of Season 4 Episode 6.
In the last week of June, the Ufotable series, which ranked at number five, received 1.4 million views.
While ranking fifth globally, it achieved even greater success in Asian nations like Vietnam, the Philippines, Japan, and the Maldives, where it topped the list of the top 10 non-English TV shows.
Other top rankers on Netflix
In addition to the most recent season of Demon Slayer, Rising Impact, the first anime adaption, debuted on Netflix last week. After the new title’s exclusive platform debut on June 22, it debuted at #9 on the Top 10 chart and garnered one million views between June 24 and June 30.

Other classics, such Detective Conan and Chibi Maruko-chan, remained in their usual Top 4 spots at #3 and #4, respectively. That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 3 came in second to last with an average household viewership rating of 3.3. In the Kanto region, One Piece dropped to #8 with a 2.6% rating.
