Washington: There has been a demand to ban visas and confiscate the property of Pakistani officials. An Indian-American lawmaker has demanded a ban on visas of senior Pakistani officials and freezing of their assets following reports of an alleged attempt to conceal the killings of peaceful protesters in Pakistan.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party took out a protest march towards Islamabad demanding the release of jailed former Prime Minister Imran Khan. Four people were reportedly killed and 50 injured in the crackdown by authorities against the march.

Indian-American Congressman Ro Khanna said he was shocked by reports of efforts by Pakistan Army Chief Asim Munir's administration to conceal alleged killings of peaceful protesters. He said the US should ban visas of senior officials in the Pakistani military administration and freeze their assets.
Demand for release of Imran Khan in America
MP Mickey Sherrill said he was deeply concerned by reports of violence in response to protests in Pakistan. He said the people of Pakistan deserve a vibrant democracy, which also includes the right to freedom of speech and expression. Last month, MP Greg Kaiser along with 60 other MPs supported human rights and democracy in Pakistan. Also wrote a letter to US President Joe Biden and called for the release of political prisoners including Khan.
