'Cover your head, now we will pray…', how did this happen in a US election rally?

American Civil Rights Attorney and Republican Party leader Harmeet Dhillon has done something that has earned her immense love from the people of India. During the Republican National Convention, she prayed to Guru in such a way that people listened spellbound. She recited ‘Ardaas’ with her head covered. She said that whenever one starts any work, one prays to God with one’s head covered. She recited Ardaas in Hindi in a very melodious voice, after which the entire convention hall echoed with applause. This is the first time in America that a woman of Indian origin has prayed in this way.
Donald Trump also heard Harmeet Dhillon’s prayer. When the prayer was over, he clapped. Harmeet Dhillon had reached the convention in Indian attire and started her speech with measured words. She also prayed for Trump and said that thanks to God, former President Donald Trump survived.
She said, ‘The last 48 hours have been very sensitive for us. We and our supporters are shocked by the heinous attack on President Trump. I come from a Sikh immigrant family. I want to say a prayer for my visitors. We pray to our Lord before starting any new work, by which we thank God. We ask God for mercy for humanity, truth, courage, service and justice. You Thakur, I pray to you. Live the whole world, all my hopes are yours. You are our parents and we are your children, there is immense happiness in your grace. No one knows your end, O Lord above all…’
People bowed down in ‘Ardaas’
Everyone bowed their heads during Harmeet Dhillon’s prayer. He said that it is Wahe Guru’s blessing that America is such a beautiful land. He prayed for his colleagues and said that we are thankful that Donald Trump’s life was saved. He said that we pray with our heads covered. Some people even covered their heads.

Harmeet Dhillon is now one of the top leaders of the Republican Party. Harmeet Dhillon was born in Chandigarh. She believes in Russian socialism, and with this hope she went to America. In 2006, she started her own firm, named Dhillon Law Group. She gradually started moving towards conservative activism.

In 2013, she was elected to the board of the California Republican Party. She was elected to the RNC’s National Committee Women in 2016. Harmeet gave a speech during Trump’s social media summit on July 1, 2019. She filed a stay order in court against staying at home during Covid. She has also been Trump’s lawyer in many cases.
