In the 2019 elections, Sunil Singh defeated Congress candidate Manoj Kumar by a margin of 3,77,871 votes. Later Subhash Prasad Yadav on behalf of Rashtriya Janata Dal and Arjun Kumar on behalf of Communist Party of India also contested from here. Subhash Prasad Yadav got 83,425 votes and Arjun Kumar got 22,577 votes. 63.69 percent voter turnout in Chhatra Lok Sabha constituency, which is 63.69 percent voter turnout for 2024 Lok Sabha elections. In the 2019 elections, MP Sunil Kumar Singh faced stiff opposition, but when polling came, again the people of Chhatra filled BJP's bag with votes. He got about 16 percent more votes this time than last time. This time BJP's votes have reached 57.03 percent. It is noteworthy here that 22 candidates contested in the Chatra Lok Sabha constituency. This figure is lower than the 2019 general elections, but higher than the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.
