CCI will conduct detailed study on Artificial Intelligence, invites proposals from institutions
The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has invited proposals from entities for a detailed market study of the impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in India.
CCI said in a statement issued on Monday that it will appoint an agency to conduct a detailed market study on artificial intelligence and its impact on competition. For this, proposals have been sought by issuing Request for Proposal (RFP) till June 3. According to the trade monitoring body, the last date for financial bids after technical presentations has been fixed as June 28.
The Competition Commission of India said that the transformative capabilities of AI have the potential to increase supply and demand. The potential competition risks arising from its use are a matter of concern. The proposed market study on ‘Artificial Intelligence and Competition’ is being conducted at a time when the increasing use of AI across industries has raised many questions regarding its implications for competitive dynamics in markets.
