CBSE 2024 Board Exam Live: Class 12 Accountancy paper concludes, analysis here
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class 12 Accountancy paper on Saturday, March 23, 2024 was a moderate one.
Students were able to attempt most of the questions that required direct application of theories. Some questions were a little challenging and required conceptual understanding, which could only be successfully answered by high achievers after deep analysis and interpretation. Overall students found today’s Accountancy paper to be easy. Some students found the paper to be quite lengthy because of calculations.”
However, overall, the paper was well balanced, within the capabilities of all the students.
Accountancy examination was for 80 marks, to be attempted within 3 hours.
The paper had total of 34 questions which were divided into two sections, i.e. Part A and Part B.
Part A: Accounting for Partnership Firms and Companies
Part B had two options, i.e. (i) Analysis of Financial Statements and (ii) Computerized Accounting.
While Part A was compulsory, Part B had two-sub sections, to choose from.
Jaswinder Kaur, Accountancy teacher at Gurunanak Public School (GNPS), said that the exam was well balanced and students could complete it on time. “Though the paper was a bit lengthy, students came out of the examination hall happy”, she added.
Noorpreet Kaur, an accountancy student, said that around 10% of the questions were a little tricky.
Another student, Jaibir Singh, who expects more than 70 marks in the exam said, “The exam was a little lengthy but easy to solve and many of the questions were direct.”

The Class 12 CBSE Accountancy exam held on March 23, 2024, showcased a well-constructed paper that effectively gauged students’ competency levels.
The overall difficulty ranged from easy to moderate, aligning with the prescribed syllabus. However, certain MCQ’s posed challenges for students, like Assertion-Reasoning questions, and some questions from partnership.
The majority of questions in the paper were within the grasp of the students, reflecting a balanced approach in difficulty.
The paper was fully in sync with the suggested blue print by CBSE with no surprises. Over all difficulty level of the paper was moderate.
Brighter students were confident to score very good Marks and average students will also score good marks.
Overall, the paper was aptly designed to assess the competency level of students. It effectively tested the understanding and application of concepts.

Question paper was as per CBSE guidelines. Questions had internal choice as per board pattern. MCQs were not direct, but thought provoking. 4 and 6 marks question’s were easy. Students were satisfied with the paper.

The CBSE 2024 board exam will conclude on April 2, 2024. The examination for both Class 10, 12 was started on February 12, 2024, across the nation and aboard. Around 39 lakh students have appeared for the CBSE 10, 12th board examination this year.
CBSE Accountancy paper is conducted today from 10.30 am to 1.30 pm. Around 17 lakh candidates are appearing for CBSE Class 12 Board examination this year.
CBSE Class 12 Accountancy paper duration is for 3 hours. The examination started at 10.30 am and will get over at 1.30 pm across the country and abroad.
Appearing candidates will have to bring their own stationery to the exam centre. Apart from this, candidates will have to carry their admit card to the exam centre on all exam days.
The Board made it compulsory for students appearing in the exam to wear their uniform and carry their respective admit cards, and stationary items to the exam centre.
CBSE Class 12 examination commenced on February 15 and will end on April 2, 2024. The examination is conducted at various exam centres across the country in a single shift- from 10.30 am to 1.30 pm on all days.
The Board has allotted 15 minutes of extra time to students before the examination to read the question papers thoroughly. The students were allowed to start writing after the 15 minutes was over.
