CBI has organized a two-day photo exhibition at Doranda College, Ranchi on the occasion of the Silver Jubilee of Kargil Vijay Divas.
Kargil Vijay Diwas: On the occasion of the silver jubilee of Kargil Vijay Diwas, the Central Bureau of Communications, Zonal Office, Ranchi organized a two-day photo exhibition on Friday at Doranda College Hall. The function started with the lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest and other invited guests. Following this, the special guests were presented with a shawl, souvenir, plant and a book related to the 100th chapter of Man Ki Baat by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Youth should take responsibility – Ranchi University Vice-Chancellor Dr. Ajitkumar Sinha, who was the chief guest at the event, said that the aim of such program is to inculcate the spirit of patriotism among the youth. Youth is the future of tomorrow, on whose shoulders rests the responsibility of the country. He said that in the year 2047, India will become a developed country by stepping into the 100th year of independence. The youth should know the history, culture and tradition of the country. He also asked everyone to study the rare photographs displayed in the exhibition. Silver Jubilee Celebration: Akhil Kumar Mishra, Additional Director, Central Office of Communications and Press Information, Ranchi said: Kargil Victory Day Silver Jubilee is being celebrated across the country. The exhibition set up here is full of information. It depicts important moments of Kargil War through photographs. He requested everyone to come and witness this exhibition with their families. Chief Conservator of Forest Siddharth Tripathi said that he had gone to Dehradun for training at the beginning of the Kargil war. He has seen from close quarters the incredible valor and bravery of the Indian Army in the inaccessible mountains. He said it is important to live for the progress of the country and to sacrifice for the country. The importance of those who made great sacrifices for the country will be proved only when we love our country. Sri Neeraj Kumar, Regional Director, UITAI, said that service to the country can be done anywhere. Do your work honestly and contribute to the progress of the country. He also informed about the efforts being made for digital development through Aadhaar. Principal of Toronto College Prof. Rajkumar Sharma said today is an auspicious occasion to pay tribute to Kargil martyrs and pay respect to their families. National interest is higher than self interest and public interest. Fuldev Soren, principal of Toranda St. Xavier's School, said today is a day to remember our duties. Shahid Rehman, Chief, Central Office of Communication, Ranchi introduced the topic, We should respect each other and it is our moral responsibility to help everyone. Meanwhile, District Publicity Officer Omkarnath Pandey presided over the forum and the vote of thanks was delivered by Prof. Presented by Mithilesh Kumar. Kargil war veteran Subedar Shankar Kumar, who was present at the event along with Major M. Jayant, shared his memories of the Kargil war and said that the local citizens helped the soldiers a lot after the enemy attack. Despite the remoteness of the area, people brought food and water. Subedar Shankar Kumar asked all the youth to have patriotism and service spirit. An Aadhaar and India Post stall has also been set up near the exhibition venue by the Aadhaar Zonal Office. Here people can update address, number etc. in Aadhaar. On the other hand, a mini exhibition related to rare stamps has been organized by India Post. Meanwhile, along with the welcome song, the artists of the song and drama category were also felicitated in the traditional way. Shafiq Alam, Khurshid Alam, Hrishikesh Patra, Omprakash Roy, Hari Oran, GN Minns, Srikanth Modi, Akash Kumar, Rekha Kumari of Central Bureau of Communications, Ranchi played a key role in coordinating the event. This photo exhibition will be held till 27th July. All teaching and non-teaching staff of Toronto College participated in the event. At the end of the exhibition on July 27, prizes will be awarded to students who participated in various competitions.
