Can garlic-onion eaters serve Laddu Gopal? Premanand Ji Maharaj replied
In today's time, people are moving fast towards adopting spiritual life and following religious rules. But many times such questions arise in his mind, which is difficult to find answers. One of these questions is whether people eating garlic and onion can serve Laddu Gopal? This question was recently asked by a devotee to the famous saint Premanand Ji Maharaj.
This question forced many devotees to think, because in Hinduism, garlic and onion are considered tamasic food. In such a situation, what did Premanand Ji Maharaj answer? Does eating garlic and onion affect devotion? Let's know
Garlic-onion and relation of devotion
Premanand Ji Maharaj made it clear that consuming garlic and onion is not a sin in any way, but it can affect devotion and mental peace. According to him, both these things fall under the category of Tamoguni food, which affect the mind and thoughts of human beings. He said that the more pure diet is taken during worship and devotion, the better it is.
Does Laddu affect Gopal's service?
On the question of the devotee, Premanand Ji Maharaj replied that God should be served with full devotion and purity. Laddu Gopal is not offered tamasic food, so while serving him, a person should try to adopt a pure and sattvic diet.
Do not show off in devotion
Premanand Ji Maharaj also said that the method of serving God should be special. He advised the devotees not to publicly display Laddu Gopal's bath, makeup and enjoyment, because the true form of devotion is selfless and confidential. He said, *"If ego comes in devotion, then it destroys the real form of devotion."
If a person consumes garlic and onion, he can still serve God, but if possible, it is more auspicious to adopt a sattvic diet. According to Premanand Ji Maharaj, God loves the service done with love, purity and dedication.
