'Bulldozer' ran over government decisions in UP, why take this step?
The BJP's Yogi Adityanath government, which was firm on its decisions in UP, has backtracked on two issues. In UP, Yogi Baba's bulldozer has now started running on government decisions instead of illegal encroachments. After the disappointing Lok Sabha polls in UP, this is the first time the government has stood with the public by taking a decision to back down on two key issues. As the government backtracked, various political implications were also speculated. One of the two issues we are referring to is digital attendance of teachers and the other is bulldozers operating in illegal housing. When schools opened in the new session, the government implemented digital attendance system in schools. These measures were taken by the government to ensure that teachers go to school on time, but the teachers revolted. The teachers walked out of the school and staged a protest. The second case is directly related to Lucknow, the capital of UP. The encroachment removal work which has been going on for the past few days has been banned. Digital attendance system implemented in July Let's first talk about the digital attendance of teachers. The government had issued orders to those schools this year. All teachers in schools between classes 5 and 8 have been asked to register their attendance online. The government had also prepared a portal for this. The teachers went on strike after the education department issued this order. The teachers said that the new system for attendance registration was not suitable for them. Many teachers opposed the digital attendance system citing problems with the portal. The new digital attendance system implemented by the government does not require a biometric machine. Digital attendance registration should be done only from the mobiles of the teachers, but only when the teacher is present in the school, the problem arises. That is, attendance will not be recorded except by mobile phone to the school location. The portal is designed so that teachers can log in only after getting the location of the school. Teachers were worried about the location portal. Many authors complained about the slowness of the portal, and some said it had glitches. After a while the attendance problem escalated and the teachers went on strike. The matter came to Lucknow. He met the General Secretary of the Teachers' Association. The government then suspended decisions on digital attendance for two months. The government promised to set up a committee on the matter and move forward based on its recommendations. More than 6 lakh teachers are affected. Only 16000 teachers marked attendance on the first day after the system came into force. That is only two percent. Before this new system came into effect, Selfie system was applicable for assistants in UP. That is, on reaching the school, the teachers used to take a selfie and update it on the link sent by the government. Currently, the government has made more than 6 lakh teachers happy by banning the digital attendance system. The teachers have also welcomed this decision of the government. Somewhere among the teachers a message was also sent that the government cares about them. Many encroached houses have been marked red. After the red tag was put up, people started to feel that now they are not going to save their houses. After the marking, anger continued to rise among the people. Protesting against this decision of the government, some people pasted registration papers on the gate. A similar situation was observed in the city of Indraprastha. Somewhere there was growing anger among the people against the government. Ban on removal of encroachments: Seeing the public anger, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath decided to ban the campaign to remove encroachments. The Chief Minister himself posted on X and said that whether it is Bandhnagar or Indraprastha in Lucknow, the safety and satisfaction of every resident here is our responsibility. The families affected by the Kukrail river revitalization project should be relieved. There is no justification for marking private houses; I have directed them to meet the concerned authorities and take steps to remove the fear and confusion of the people in the area and to improve the public facilities there. Thus the government has capitalized on the discontent of teachers and landlords on both these issues. With this decision, the government has also tried to send a message to the public that it cares about them. Chief Minister Yogi said in his post that safety and satisfaction are our responsibility.
