Budget is totally disappointing… P Chidambaram said – No relief for common man
Commenting on the General Budget, senior Congress leader and former Finance Minister P Chidambaram said the budget did not take concrete measures to tackle unemployment and inflation. No relief has been given to the common man in this budget. Criticizing the taxation system, he said that two types of taxation systems cannot be accepted in the same country. Chidambaram launched a scathing attack on the Union Budget and questioned what data the BJP had to back its claims. He said most of the demands made while presenting the budget were vague. He cited as an example the government's schemes to provide jobs and training to first-time workers. Questions Raised on Internships in Companies: He said that the government has promised to provide placements to the youth of the country in the best companies and 210 lakh youth will benefit from this scheme. Chidambaram How many companies did you contact? What kind of companies are they? He said that some studies should have been done before making these announcements. He accused the government of inflating figures like 210 lakh, 30 lakh, 50 lakh. Chidambaram accused the Congress government of duplicating the general budget and said the scheme was part of its election promise. Whoever came said it was a good idea. Later, he said sarcastically, “He realized why he had to suffer such a defeat in the (Lok Sabha) elections. Glad they realized they had to answer the unemployment question. Glad to see he made wrong decisions that need to be corrected. I am happy that the Finance Minister has read the Lok Sabha 2024 manifesto of the Congress, P Chidambaram said.
