BSF Director General reaches India-Bangladesh border and visits highly sensitive post Ranagat
India-Bangladesh border: Director General of Border Security Force Taljit Singh Chaudhary visited the India-Bangladesh border on Tuesday, the second day of his tour. Chowdhury, who was once UP's super constable, has taken charge of Seema from August 5 due to unrest in Bangladesh. The 1990 batch IPS was recently given the additional charge of BSF DG. On the second day of his visit, he reviewed strategic and operational readiness at ICP Petrabol and 68th Battalion BSF along the India-Bangladesh border. During this, Chowdhury also visited Ranagat, a highly sensitive border area of the 68th Battalion deployed along the India-Bangladesh border in North 24 Parganas district. BSF Director General Eastern Command was accompanied by Additional Director General Ravi Gandhi and Inspector General South Bengal Border Maninder BS Pawar during his visit to Ranagat, a border area located in North 24 Parganas district and visited the passenger terminal and cargo terminal. The main objective of his visit was to assess the strategic and operational readiness and deployment strategies of the BSF in these key locations in view of recent developments in Bangladesh. Following this, the Director General of Border Security Force held a meeting with BSF officers to review the current situation in Bangladesh. Operational strategies to counter illegal infiltration and smuggling across the border were also discussed. The Director General emphasized the need to raise awareness and take effective measures to address these challenges. At the end of this important tour, IPS Chowdhury addressed the officers and soldiers at an army conference. During this, the current situation in Bangladesh was discussed and advised to be ready to face any situation. He underlined the importance of border preparedness in view of Bangladesh's challenging situation.
