Body of missing Bangladeshi MP found in Kolkata's New Town, suspicion of murder. Tezzbuzz Regional, World News
Kolkata, May 22 (HS). The body of Bangladesh MP Anwarul Azim, who came to Kolkata for treatment, has been found in New Town area of Kolkata. He was missing for the last nine days. The Deputy High Commission of Bangladesh based in Kolkata has been informed about this. Police have expressed suspicion of murder of the MP.
According to the Deputy High Commission of Bangladesh, Anwarul Azim had come to West Bengal from Bangladesh for treatment on May 12. He was staying at a friend’s place in Baranagar. On May 13, he said that he was going to the doctor for treatment. After this there was no trace of him. On May 14, his missing report was lodged in the police station. After this, the police team started searching for the Bangladesh MP. His last location was tracked in Muzaffarpur, Bihar. A police team from Kolkata had gone to Bihar, but nine days after his disappearance, Anwarul Azim’s body was recovered from Kolkata’s New Town. The police of New Town police station and the intelligence department of Vidhannagar Commissionerate are busy investigating the entire matter.
Anwarul Azim is an MP from Jhenaidah-4 parliamentary constituency of Bangladesh. His sudden disappearance has created panic from West Bengal to Bangladesh. Police had said that the location of the vehicle in which he had boarded was found in the New Town area. After this the police started searching for him in Barrackpore and its surrounding areas, but he was not found anywhere. Police said that on May 12, Anwarul Azim had reached the house of his friend Gopal Vishwas. He remained there on the night of 12 May. He left for treatment on May 13 and after that his body was found.
It is also being told that after coming to Kolkata, after leaving his old friend’s house in Baranagar, Anwarul Azim had rented a flat in a residential complex in New Town and was staying there with some people. Further investigation is going on in this regard.
