Bihar: Land acquisition for Bagmati New Dam has started.

Bihar: Muzaffarpur. The problem of land acquisition for the barrage to be built under the Bagmati expansion project has been resolved. For the construction of this dam, about eight acres of land will be acquired in Aurai Katra and Kaigat areas of Muzaffarpur district. Approval for acquisition is given from Collector level. The Circle Officer will verify the documents. A target has been set to complete this work before the flood to save the area from flood risk. It is the responsibility of the Zonal Officers to update the land records of the tenants and they are also entrusted with the responsibility of issuing the LPC. A detailed report has been requested to the Land Acquisition Officer on completion of the work. In case of negligence or error in this, full responsibility rests with the Zonal Officers. The Zonal Officer concerned has been given two months to verify the documents related to the land. During this they will check the land records at 11 points. Apart from this, it has been advised to hold camps in the area and carry out the above work.
