Bihar Floods: Bhagalpur. The water level of rivers in Northeast Bihar is fluctuating. All the rivers, big and small, are in flood. Virpur and Varun Kumar, Chief Flood Control Engineer in the villages in the inner reaches of the dam, said: The dams of both the sections were inspected till night. The effects of the release of about four lakh cubic feet of water from the dam on Sunday were visible in villages located within the East Kosi dam in Saharsa. Water has started flowing into the embankment on Pelahi-Birjain road. Water has also reached many houses. Rivers have receded and water has flooded many fields in Mathepura. People are moving to safer places. In Araria, the water in Bagra, Nuna and Burman rivers is decreasing slightly. In Chikti block, Nuna and Bagra rivers are receding, while in Jogihat the water level of Bagra river has slightly increased. At present, Bhakra, Nuna and Burman rivers flowing through Sikhti, Balasi, Jogihat and Fourbesganj are full of water.
