Big News: Raid on contractor's firm, GST theft of Rs 3 crore 12 lakh detected
Bareilly News. The GST team has raided the firm of Bareilly contractor Narendra Kumar. GST theft of Rs 3 crore 12 lakh was detected here. The team collected Rs 21 lakh on the spot. The contractor has asked for time to deposit the remaining amount. It is being told that the contractor was getting government payment of Rs 80 crore per year.
Narendra Kumar's office is in Baradari police station area. On Saturday, the State Tax Special Investigation Branch (SIB) raided the establishment of contractor Narendra Kumar located on Stadium Road. Tax evasion of Rs 3.12 crore was detected in it. According to GST Additional Commissioner Grade-1 OP Choubey, the contractor's firm Mr Narendra takes contracts for civil work of government institutions. Investigation of the concerned contractor was going on based on the information of tax evasion. On confirmation of the information, the SIB team went to the establishment and investigated.

After investigation, it was found that the contractor was getting government payments of Rs 80 crore per year but he kept showing purchases from bogus firms registered in Delhi for the purpose of tax evasion through circular trading. Tax was adjusted by fake ITC claim. Based on the facts, the contractor accepted the mistake. Admitted that Rs 3.12 crore less tax was paid.
