BetterPlace teams up with Uttar Pradesh govt to skill over 100,000 frontline workers by 2025

Many frontline workers struggle to improve their skills and find new jobs. BetterPlace wants to change that.

“More than 52% of frontline workers today find it challenging to upskill themselves and get a new job, as per a survey conducted by CIIE.CO. This lack of opportunity for upskilling can majorly impact the economy over the long term, leading to under-utilisation of human capital in India,” it said in a statement.

By training workers, they can not only find more work but also earn more money by having the right skills for better-paying jobs.

“On the contrary, if upskilled, frontline workers will not only be able to win more work but also have the scope of getting their earnings per potential increased, by hitting the market with more up-to-date and relevant skills that command a higher rate,” it said.

Pravin Agarwala, CEO of BetterPlace, is excited about this partnership. He says their goal is to help more frontline workers support their families and contribute to India’s progress.

‘Our core priority since day zero has been to improve opportunities, increase the employee competencies and widen the work horizons for frontline workforce in India. Personally, I believe that by upgrading themselves with the current and future job needs via holistic initiatives like this, more and more frontline workers will be able to become empowered providers for their families, and in turn benefit from the overall development happening in India.’

Through this partnership, BetterPlace will provide access to online learning so workers can improve their skills. They will also create special training for women to promote equality in the workforce.
